Busy at work. Today I’m working and thinking on the goodness of God’s Word.
“When you discipline a man with rebukes for sin, you consume like a moth what is dear to him..” -Psalm 39:11.
It is only for our good, because nothing on this earth that we hold so dear can bring true joy or fulfillment that we pursue so eagerly in life. I can find joy in the Lord because he is unchangeable, faithful and true to what he has said in His Word, unlike anything on this earth. My love for the Lord deepens every time I fall short or am wronged because I know that I will always find forgiveness and faithfulness in Him... I don’t even deserve it! He is faithful to discipline me for my wrongs, because he loves me as a Father would his own child. His Grace is truly amazing and my heart is full! So I’m not only busy with my hands, but so is my head today 🤯😉
And it’s almost done, phew!!! I only have the paint work left to do and a few other features to add to but this is basically 75% complete. I wouldn’t be able to achieve this without the amazing materials and advice given by @luminsworkshop staff. And on the plus side I’ve just realised I’ve finally achieved one of my childhood dreams in making a wearable pair of proportionate angel wings haha. I’m so content right now ^.^
The Materiality of Mild Fear will be open on Friday and Saturday this holiday weekend @standpointgallery from 12-5 pm . Shown here are The Long Legs of History ( big and small ). They are based on the artist @freyagabie who is a great voyager( and a great artist !). She once asked me to write a catalogue entry for her exhibition ‘ Everything Must Go’ and I often imagine her as one of the ‘people in the world walking around with a long history leg; one that furrows and ploughs the surface to reveal hidden things; artefacts and memories that blink in the light of day, before settling in the present to coexist with the shorter leg, the one that treads the here and now. Together they create a view of a future that can acknowledge a present built on a past ‘. She also wears excellent skirts. #contemporarysculpture#figurativesculpture#standpointgallery#londonexhibitions#heroines#paintedsculpture#costumes#womenwho voyage
